Overview

The Viessmann Vitotrol app

The Viessmann Vitotrol app enables you to operate Viessmann heating systems equipped with Vitotronic control units. Operation from anywhere and at any time is easy, intuitive and convenient. Alongside its operating functions, the Vitotrol app features general and context-sensitive help functions. The Vitotrol app is available for mobile devices with iOS or Android operating systems.

To operate the app, the wall mounted appliances / small boilers / medium sized boilers / heat pumps / wood boilers with Vitotronic control unit (for control unit types, see "Usage requirements") must be equipped with the Vitocom 100 LAN1 internet interface and linked to the domestic broadband router. Configuration of the DSL router is not required.

Boiler messages are sent to the iPhone/smartphone. In particular, the Vitotrol app enables heat distribution control via heating circuits. The application is a convenient tool for commercial system users to operate the heating system.

Usage requirements

To use the Vitotrol app range of functions, the Viessmann Vitocom 100 type LAN1 internet interface is required. The Vitotrol app can be used if your heating system is equipped with one of the following Viessmann appliances or heat generators with Vitotronic control unit:

  • Vitodens with Vitotronic 200 HO1 control unit*
  • Vitodens 200 with Vitotronic 200 HO1A control unit*
  • Vitodens 3xx with Vitotronic 200 RF HO1B** / HO1C control unit
  • Vitodens 200 with Vitotronic 200 HO1D control unit
  • Vitodens 200 with Vitotronic 200 HO2B control unit****
  • Vitodens 3xx with Vitotronic 200 HO2B control unit****
  • Vitoladens 3xx with Vitotronic 200 HO1B control unit**
  • Vitosorp 200 with Vitotronic 200 HO1D control unit

* For heat generators with these control unit types, the Party and Economy operating functions are not available on the Vitotrol app.

** The Party and Economy function is supported from software version 45 (from around mid-2012) of the Vitotronic 200 HO1B control unit.

**** The integrated LAN card is not supported

  • Vitocrossal 300 or Vitoladens 300-C with Vitotronic 200 KW6B / KW6A* control unit
  • Small boiler with Vitotronic 200 KO1B or KO2B control unit

* For heat generators with these control unit types, the Party and Economy operating functions are not available on the Vitotrol app.

Medium sized boiler with the following Vitotronic control units

  • Vitotronic 200 GW1B, GW7B, CO1I, CO1E

  • Vitotronic 200-H type HK1B or HK3B

Additional usage requirements

 

 

  • Registration on the Viessmann Vitodata server
  • Direct, free internet access with data flat rate
  • Broadband router (LAN/WiFi) with activated DHCP service

Information on IP communication

  • The Vitocom 100 LAN1 is factory-set for dynamic IP addressing via DHCP.
  • The Vitocom can also be switched to static IP addressing.
  • For LAN networks with administrator, the Vitocom 100 LAN1 network configuration must be clarified with the on-site LAN administrator.

Information on registration

  • User and system registration can be carried out entirely through the Vitotrol app registration process.
  • When a user registers for the first time, the first system is also registered for their user account.
  • Users can add further systems to their account by repeating the registration process.
  • Alternatively, the registration can also be carried out in Vitodata 100.

Vitotrol app software versions

Use the latest version, of the Vitotrol app, currently 4.6.3. Software versions 4.1.x and earlier are no longer supported. Older software versions should be updated immediately:

  • To update the app, see the menus on your mobile device.
  • To install, go to the Apple Store (iPhone or iPad) or Google Play Store (Android devices) and search for "Vitotrol app". Then follow the recommended steps for installation. Start the Vitotrol app. You must then log back in to your system once again.

Having installed or updated the Vitotrol app, you can use it as usual.

The Vitotrol app supports the following mobile devices:

  • Devices with Apple operating system iOS version 9.0 or later
  • Devices with Google operating system Android 4.0 or later

Communication with the Vitotrol app

The Vitocom 100 LAN1 is the internet communication interface for remote control and remote monitoring of heating systems with the heat generators listed above. The Vitocom 100 LAN1 establishes the connection to the Vitodata server. The Vitotrol app can then access the system data via the Vitodata server.

Standard delivery

The standard delivery of the Vitocom 100 LAN1 contains the following:

  • Vitocom 100, type LAN1 communication device
  • Communication module for installation in the control unit
  • Connecting cables for LAN and communication module

Please note
Depending on the configuration of the heat generator, the Vitocom 100 LAN1 product option with or without communication module is required.

Scope of functions

The Vitotrol app provides access to the following functions:

  • Easy control of the operating program, set room temperature, set DHW temperature and holiday program
  • Time programs for central heating, DHW heating and DHW circulation
  • The operating parameters, including all important temperatures are clearly displayed.
  • So is the efficiency data, including solar yield and hours run.
  • Integral showcase function

In compliance with data protection guidelines, you can delete your user account for Vitodata and the Vitotrol app using the following procedure. To do this, please click the link below and follow the instructions on screen to delete the system data and user data.

Important information

Deleting the last user account will permanently delete all system and user data. You will then no longer be able to retrieve it.
